The son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Gardner of 18 Foster St., Chatham, ON. 

At the time of his death in France,  [KIA 25/07/1944] Private Garner of the Essex Scottish was married and had a young daughter who were residing  in Fairview Alberta. ‘Billy’ was very popular in Chatham with all who knew him. CDN 15/07/44.Billy was born in Chatham, ON. and was very popular in the city. He had enlisted in 1940 and had taken part in the D-Day landing.
