Fresh hope arrived at the Duphette home in Pain Court in the form of a letter from a Mrs. Bell of Cumberland, England which stated:

“Fortuneatley I was listening to a German broadcast this morning when I heard the announcer read out a message from either your son or husband. I don’t know – Pte. Noah Duphette. He sends this message – “I am in Hospital getting along well. I’ve been wounded in the head, and arms. I will write when I reach a prisioner of war camp. I am happy and well – with Love.”

This was the first news the Duphette’s have received since the official news that Noah was missing in action in January. He was discharged from the Army 25 March, 1946

Noah married Elsie (nee Crevits) and they had three children, Donald, Mary (Wilson) and Dianne Duphette.
