Born in 1896 at Rodney, ON. Husband of Bessie they wre living at 133 Grand Ave., Chatham, ON. Prior to his enlistment Ross was the principle of McKeough School in Chatham

A veteran of the Great War he served in the Canadian Field Artillery’s 63rd Batt. serving overseas until April of 1919 when he came to Chatham with the 1st Division Signals Corps, transferring to the Kent Regt. Enlisting in Chatham in August 1940, he was on the staff of BTC No. 12, in Chatham as a company commander. He was discharged from the army in 1945. He resumed his position as principle of McKeough Scholl after the war. CDN 2/01/46, IODE(P).

Major Doyle was named an Officer of the British Empire.
