Unit # Essex Scottish Regiment

Reported on a week-end furlough in September of 1940 to visit his family. In December of 1940 Oliver became a patient in the Military Hospital at Camp Bordon suffering from pneumonia. It was reported that after spending the week-end furlough with relatives he returned with his brother Joseph to their unit the Essex Scottish Regt., training at Camp Borden, ON. Oliver was on furlough again in May of 1941 from his regiment still at Camp Bordon.
