Reported as stationed at Sydney NS., arrived in Chatham on a two weeks leave. CDN 23/06/42

The CDN 20/02/43 reported to have arrived in Chatham from the west coast where he had been stationed with the RCAF. He was to spend a two week leave, with his sisters Mrs. Helen Stewart ad Mrs. William Gates.

The CDN 12/06/44 reported that Sqd. Ldr. Cowan was stationed at RCAF-Brantford was spending a leave with his sisters Mrs. Helen Stewart and Mrs. William Gates. He had his two sons with him Robert and Edward both students at Black Fox Military Institute in Los Angeles, California, USA.
