The son of Dolphis Couture of R.R.1 Pain Court, the brother of Miss Bella Couture he had four brothers and three sister. CDN 3/02/44(P) Prior to enlisting he worked in Windsor and on a farm.

Miss Bella Couture, Bear line his sister, received word in February of 1944 that her brother had been wounded in action while serving with the Perth Regt., in Italy. Clement enlisted with the Perth Regt. in November of 1942.

The CDN 20/05/44 reported that 35 soldiers from Military District No.1 where aboard a hospital ship returning to Canada and were expected to arrive in London, ON. shortly. Of the 35 11 lying stretcher/ 11 sitting stretcher / four cases nervous disability and nine walking cases/ one amputation. In that group were Pte. C.A. Coulture and L/Cpl. C. E. Wellington 

Clement was honored by the parish church of the Immaculate Conception in Paincourt along with Pte. Romeo Trahan and Sgt. Edward Caron. Pte. Coutue was unable to attend as he was undergoing treatment at the Military Hospital in London. The men received a pen and pencil set. CDN 18/01/45.
