Born in Harwich Twsp., Kent Co. ON. His mother, father, three brothers and four sister were living in Wallaceburg where he had spent most of his life. He spent much of his early years in farming in Kent County.   Next of kin: Margaret Carron, his wife, of Wallaceburg. She and their child were living at 59 Adelaide St., South, Chatham, ON. Prior to his enlistments, he had been employed at the Dominion Glass Co., Wallaceburg CDN 16/09/42.

A member of “A” Company of the Kent Regt. before enlisting with the Essex Scottish 1 July, 1941.

Reported as MIA on the Dieppe Raid in the Windsor Star of 16 September, 1942.   

The CDN 29/06/45 reported that he and eleven other men would be returning to Canada aboard Vessel 889 and there after would arrive in London, ON.
