Born 4 /03/1925, in Florence, ON. the son of Rev. and Ida (nee Marshall) J. W. Button of Charing Cross. Though he was born in Florence the family moved to Putnam and finally settling at Charing Cross where his father was the Minister at the Charing Cross United Church. Ross went to the Blenheim High School.  Step-mother Bertha (Pyke) The Husband of Ruth (nee Houston). The father of Brenda, Stuart, Cheryl, Karen.  The brother of Thelma, Helen, Lynn, Ida May, Harvey, Dr. James, Doris.

Prior to his enlistment in the RCAF he was employed at the National Grocers and after his return serving 38 years before his retirement. He worked part Time at Crawford Motors in Charing Cross. He was involved in the Charing Cross United Church, was a School Superintendent

Ross enlisted in the RCAF 15/10/43 in Chatham, ON. age 18 years. It was reported in the CDN 19/02/44 had completed his course at No. 4 Wireless School in Guelph and has been accepted in as Air Crew. 

The CDN 23/08/18 reported that Ross passed away 21 August, 2018 at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home at the age of 93 years.  Interment in Maple Leaf Mausoleum, Chatham, ON. 

Curators note: My mother and father were married by Reverend Button seven months before he went overseas. JRH.
