The son of Judge Archibald and Elizabeth (nee Cameron) Bell. George was the eldest of four, brother of Annie, George and Margret, the family lived at 3 Stanley Ave., Chatham. He did his public school in Chatham and at the Chatham Collegiate Institute. He attended the University of Toronto for his M.A. and his M. B. from the U of T, Medical School and became a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons 4/06/1900.

Dr. Bell married Grace MacDonald 3/02/1904 in Chatham they had two children Margaret and a son Archie.

Dr. Bell serve as the Director of Medical Services – Western Ontario Region. It is reported that he retired from medicine at the end of the Great War. He remained involved in many community groups, the Horticulture Society, Kent Museum Board, kent Nature Club and Wellington Lodge.

Dr. Bell died 15/08/1957 at the family home 3 Stanley Ave., Chatham.
