The son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Batch of 17 Elizabeth St., Chatham, ON. He attended Chatham Vocational School finishing his schooling a “short time before enlisting.

Trained in Canada 18 months. Went overseas and served in England two years and seven months.

An aerial mechanic he enlisted in 1941, age 20 years last June. Trained at Belleville and Trenton before being sent overseas where he had been for 13 months by February of 1944.  The CDN 29/03/1943 reported that LAC Batch had arrived overseas.  The CDN 25/02/44 reported that the 21 year old was expected to be home that day.

Discharged March 1944.
